Visual Design Work

Starting in 2017 I have worked on projects as a visual or graphic designer. Even though it is not exactly in my primary field of interest I think this work has helped me to improve communication skills, both from a working with clients standpoint but also just using visuals to express my ideas clearly and concisely.

The Farmlink Project

Along with website design and visual content design I worked on a lot of The Farmlink Projects social media posts. The aim was to grow our following, maximizing reach and thus reach more people who would be willing to donate to the cause. On the ~3 months that I worked on the as a designer, we grew the Instagram following to a little over 2,000 follower to over 7,000 with individual posts having the reach of tens of thousands of people.

Hoja Nueva

Logo Design for Hoja Nueva, a conservation group working out of Peru. I worked with the founder to ideate then create the design for the non-profit.

The basis of the design comes from the personal history of the organization. After a poaching trapped killed an ocelot Hoja Nueva had rehabilitated then reintroduced, the non-profit wanted a new logo to commemorate the late ocelot and celebrate the work that they do.

Uptrack Nut roastery

Logo design for nut roastery located in the Canadian town of Canmore. I worked with the client to come up with a concept, names and then build the final design. The idea was to market to tourists as well as locals by bringing in a piece of the local landscape to the design.

The “three sisters” are a mountain range just outside of Canmore. I wanted to emphasize their form and silhouette in the design without making it overtly obvious.

Logo design work done for and educational conservation company. I worked with the client to create a simple but effective logo that they could use to promote their brand and social image.
